Media freedom, broadcast daily since 2001.
AMPEK is a non-governmental organization founded in August 2001 by 19 owners, managers and directors of Kosovo's independent electronic media.
REC Who we are
The Association of Independent Broadcast Media of Kosovo (AMPEK) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting media freedom and diversity in Kosovo. It was founded in August 2001 by 19 owners, managers and directors of independent electronic media of Kosovo. AMPEK is made for and of users of the new media industry, where members can strengthen their skills, expand their networks and most importantly, learn from each other.
The media industry has grown by leaps and bounds and will keep growing as new technologies are developed and perfected. So that Kosovo's independent electronic media keep pace with this technological revolution, AMPEK represents and advocates for the interests of its members, and builds networks and cooperation channels among local and international media organizations.

- 08:00 Promotion of free, independent and professional activities of all privately owned electronic media.
- 09:00 Accomplishment of overall activities and technical cooperation within Association members.
- 10:00 Support in establishing, maintaining and developing the technical ground of members.
- 11:00 Support in organizing and coordinating programme cooperation between members.
- 12:00 Professional staff training and professional improvement of members' performance.
- 13:00 Fostering technological programme production and overall performance in members' own organizations.
- 14:00 Providing legal, technical and other aid for the needs of members.
- 15:00 Prevention of any form of unfair competition between members.
- 16:00 Representation of members' interests before the relevant authorities.
- 17:00 Improving, developing and maintaining cooperation with similar organizations abroad.

Campaigns to raise awareness about the laws and issues that affect media.

Legal aid
A legal assistance programme for AMPEK members.
Professionalism
Building professional capacity and the technological development of media in Kosovo.
Training
Raising professional standards through the education of managers, journalists and technicians.
Training programmes have covered the most pressing areas identified in existing reports and through direct contact with media outlets and their representatives.
Training for managers has focused on commercial management — a key element of a self-sustaining, profitable business — and on marketing and market research to improve sales and increase profit. Training for editors and journalists has been organized in cooperation with the Associations of Journalists, with a growing focus on training trainers.
Governance
AMPEK has a well-defined organizational and managerial structure. It is directed by a five-member board of directors and managed by the Executive Director of the association.
The Board is responsible for the control and management of the affairs and property of the Association, and always acts in accordance with its purposes. The home office of AMPEK is in Prishtinë.
